Nagar Kirtan 2025

  • What is a Nagar Kirtan?
What is a Nagar Kirtan? A Nagar Kirtan is a Sikh religious procession where hymns are sung through the streets, led by the Sikh holy scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib. It's a vibrant, inclusive event open to everyone, celebrating unity, peace, and community spirit. In Reading, the Nagar Kirtan has been held annually since 2002, bringing together people of all backgrounds to share in the joy and values of Sikh tradition. Each year, the Reading and Wokingham Sikhs look to support a charity on the day.
